Oh Blogger indeed. Been one of those mornings. Never mind. I'm off shortly to try my hand at my first ever karate class, I'll have to take out all my pent up frustration Jackie Chan style. Enough of that.
I'm confused. Yes, truly. I was having a think about 'my blog' last night, and asking myself - what's its focus, really, what's this blog going to be about. Set out on the smallholding vein, but then there are so many other things I want to wax lyrical about sometimes. There's my passion for gardening that borders sometimes on obsessive, my love of crafting and creativity - it would be wonderful to record projects or share ideas about that, then there's the joy and challenges of parenting, I could go on. But it would bore and confuse anyone who stumbled upon this blog terribly. In a flash of madness I thought - Ah-Ha! I could keep a blog for each of these threads.....yeah right. No more needs to be said about that totally realistic idea.
So, I think I'll keep plodding along anyway. Stick to the Smallholding theme, and throw in a few decoys along the way. And now, I am off to focus my mind and sharpen my skills with the discipline of a martial art.
Tales of our adventures in smallholding, creativity and life in general, from the heart of the Somerset countryside

Picture not so Perfect...

But a picture all the same!
Here goes my first attempt at adding images to this blog. The pic to the right is of our tiny little postage-stamp sized garden in London (which I dearly loved). Only when I saw it full size did I realize I'd unwittingly included myself in the frame - yes, that is me with my backside to you, digging the dirt from our first attempt at a compost heap.
It's when I put this picture next to the one above, which is part of our 'garden' in Somerset, complete with too-big pond and willows, that I do a double take/reality check/ quick pinch, and realize just how far we have come since London, and how life has changed for us...

Mmmmm....Summer Sunshine
It's not often I get treated to lunch made by the Case-man, and able to enjoy it together with him in the garden basking in the surpise sunshine. What a delicious surprise, both the sunshine and the yummy toasties. Of course Jet ( the boxer) sat transfixed and drooling the whole way through, hoping like mad for a morsel. But mmmmm...that sunshine, like being covered in a warm golden honey flavoured hug. I can still feel myself radiating as I sit here. In fact, I just have to back outside for another fix. I love you sunshine......

Tingling Green ...
My green fingers have been tingling this week. Putting in a marathon session in the garden on Monday - 8 hours nearly stright, planting a new border that fronts onto the roadside - will be beautiful for everyone to see. The Major, a veteran local, stopped as he was driving past to admire and say 'Jolly Good'!! That made me smile. Tidied up the front so it looks like a garden , not a dump. What a diffrence. And surprise surprise, the Somerset sun came out to play , and it was an afternoon of glorious weather.
More dirty nails playtime when today, went and planted up Lesley's border that we dug last week. Seeing the plants in the ground was fantastic, now I just want to fast forward a year so I can see them really coming into their own. I am not a patient gardener.
Getting on with my weekly challenges, ok, followed my gut more on the planting and things more personal, but the 'what would love do' is a real biggie. Hmmm...have had a couple of not very loving moments to contend with. Life huh.

Up Early One Morning
Yup, got a sneak peak at a very pretty sunrise, hearing the cockerels calling us to action, and am about to go and feed the chooks. But, before I do....a quick bit of blogging, without thought.
Monday - I'm going ot set myself some guiding principles for my week ahead.....
Don't think, to the point of stress - just go with the gut and DO.
Try, in each moment or interaction with myself or others, that feels difficult, to reflect - 'what would love do' - and do it.
Trust.
Let's see how we get along.
Blog Challenge - keep it short, add some pics, write more often.
